My opinion on sails. Just from the video, they'll be too thick and out of scale. Never saw sails that look right just hanging from the yards dead with no wind behind them. On the few occasions when I model sails, they're furled to the yards and made of tissue paper soaked in white glue.

I have always wanted to build one of these. I once visited Zoukei Mura HQ in Kyoto, and they actually have a V-1650-7 engine on display there. Their staff told me they based their model on it, which really shows how dedicated to detail they are.

I love Zoukei Mura kits and have many but there’s no logical reason to have detail in areas that nobody will ever see because it’s glued closed. Expense for the sake of expense. Everything else is great,beautiful kits.

Tamiya does make a 1/32 Mustang. It is a wonderful kit and has magnets so you can remove the engine cowls.

Could the seams on the canopies be modeling something on the real canopies? Perhaps they were made of two parts.

Did they give it the R.R. Merlin or an Allison?

That laminar Flow wing riveting is superb. Lovely kit.

Sure wish there was a P-51 D-5, with several decal choices, including Preddy's. It's a very different bird.

We visited JQ Hawaii when we were there in May, 2024, I was able to get a Fujimi Ferrari 250 GTO, was very happy as I'd been looking at getting one but kind of cool getting it Hawaii while on a little vacation.

These kits are incredible! I looked at the P-51 kits they offer and am going to get one to build with as little skin covering as possible and display next to my Tamiya kit. Great video, I'm looking forward to seeing you start a build on one.

Be very very sanding your pieces ...there are nubs and bumps and cuts that are points for connecting pieces togethet

Since you aren't selling these I'll say here... I buy mine directly via e bay. Japan vendors are quite reliable & fast but importantly e-bay covers it if there were a problem but I've always had good luck...

I think the plastic kit struts are just fine. And just as strong considering the weight of the plane. Super cool kit !

Instead of using a hammer for putting in the brads you should use a pin pusher, a lot easier to put them in. They should be available from all model shops and railway model shops

Haven't seen the entire video. Do you seal the photo etched brass part? Brass will oxidize and turn dark over time. Anyway: looks gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your process.
